"Programmers' Choice" - since 1984

by Roald Sinissaar   »

If ever I get the funds and knowhow to start a big company, I want to get into the coffee business. Coffee has the same biological effect as soft energising drugs (like ecstasy watered down with baking powder) do. I’d start a brand of the greatest and most invigorating espresso around – “Programmers’ Choice”.

The reason I have this half-assed excuse for a dream is the mind-boggling amount of coffee that I consume while doing all-nighters. Programmers are the toughest kind of night owls and it would only make a huge amount of sense to name the strongest brand after them.

Now for the bitter part.

For next week I have:

> a huge project for which we’ve had no time before
> a test in history
> a test in chemistry
> another test in history
> mockups for some work I need to get done
> a logo to design
> senseless questions in literature to be answered, an ocean of literary horror
> a test in mathematics
> and the usual this and that
> plus a whole lot of blogging to catch up with
> and don’t forget the foxen!

I ask you, is this normal? IS THIS NORMAL? WHY DO YOU PEOPLE DO THIS TO US? WHY, GOD, WHY?
